Am/Can CH Arkeno's Everybodyz Talking
winning Allbreed Best in Show
at the 2005 Prairie Canine Academy Show

As all in destined events, my entry into Papillons was quite by accident. While attending a dog show in 1997 with my friend Omar Gonzalez to watch his Pekingese, across the tent I spotted EARS! I walked over and discovered the ears were attached to an equally gorgeous dog. The owner of the dog was friendly enough, her dog was beautiful, and we had a nice discussion about the breed. I knew right then that I had to have one! When I told Omar later what I was doing, he suggested I call Lou Ann King, the breeder of the then-unknown CH Loteki Supernatural Being. I did just that, but when the call went through, Lou Ann's daughter told me that they don't sell show dogs anymore. I told the daughter to pass along my admiration to Lou Ann for her beautiful dogs. Several weeks later, Lou Ann called me and we had a lengthy conversation. She referred me to an AKC judge nearby, who referred me on to a veterinarian in Standish, Michigan. 20 years earlier, I purchased my first shorthair show cat from a vet in Standish, Michigan, and it was the same person! Talk about destiny ... I brought home Flyaway So Festive, a black and white girl who is wonderful in every way. She was shown and "pointed out", never winning that second major.

In the meantime, I continued to shop for the very best Papillon I could get and this, too, came about in an interesting way. Omar's Pekingese was shown briefly on the west coast. The handler is the daughter of a woman who is an acquaintence of Kim McKay of Arkeno Papillons. At that time, Kim was showing her beautiful special, CH Arkeno's Memphis Blues. She also brought out his open son, who had the very poor manners of defeating his father! I heard this story and immediately contacted Kim about the son. She responded with a picture of a very nice dog. Some time later, Kim decided that if she was going to send something this far, it would be even better than the boy we discussed. True to her word and well worth the wait, several years later I came to own Am/Can CH Arkeno's Everybodyz Talking ("Reno"), a beautiful, healthy and very sweet tri-color dog. What more could I have asked for? Reno finished his AKC championship in a snap and went on to win his class at the National Specialty show in Orlando, Florida.

Today, I have a small number of Papillons, who are all members of the family. I belong to the Papillon Club of America and adhere to their policies. When I have the occasional litter of puppies, they are available no sooner than 12 weeks of age, at which time they have had all their shots. All puppies come with a written health guarantee and are bred from AKC and CKC champion bloodlines. A signed contract is required with each puppy purchase, which stipulates that puppies must be spayed or neutered, receive yearly veterinarian check-ups and must remain "indoor only" pets.
